We are small family farm in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in North Carolina. We are proponents of regenerative agriculture. As such the soil is the life blood of our farm. The practices we use enhance soil life and biodiversity. These practices benefit all animals on our farm including the local wildlife. They also help us heal the land that was drained of much of its organic matter through decades of conventional farming and recreational activities. We do not use conventional pesticides and fertilizers on our land. Please feel free to reach out to learn more about us and our farming practices.
Whenever anyone visits Pleasant Places Farm they comment about the amazing view. Our home is situated on a hill that overlooks a local creek and the surrounding area. The view is what attracted us to this property in 2016. We weren't really looking to move to the area but once we visited the property we couldn't resist. We are far enough from the city to enjoy a slow pace of life and it really is pleasant here. That is how we came up with the name. It really fits our farm and our vision for the future. Through strategic land leases our plan is to help other landowners rejuvenate their land through our farming practices. We want everyone to have a "pleasant place".
